What is "Drilling"
Drilling is a cutting process used to produce a cylindrical hole in a workpiece by rotating a cutting tool (drill bit) while applying pressure.
The type of drill bit used, as well as the speed and feed rate, will depend on the material being drilled and the desired size and shape of the hole. Common types of drill bits include twist drills, center drills, and spotting drills, each with a unique geometry and design optimized for specific drilling operations.
In most cases, you should not drill with an endmill because they are not designed to evacuate chips from a plunging cut.
