Since the start of our MacOS support on MeshCAM, we’ve compiled the application for Intel Macs. When the M1 was released, Apple shipped it with Rosetta, their translation system that allows Apple Silicon processors to run Intal applications, so we conted on that to keep MeshCAM running on MacOS.
In the next couple of months, Apple will be removing Rosetta, and will no longer release MacOS updates for Intel Macs. So, it’s time for us to move on from the Intel builds, and release MeshCAM for Apple Silicon natively.
Here’s what that means:
- We just uploaded MeshCAM V9, Build 60 that run on Apple Silicon natively.
- We will no longer be releasing builds that run on Intel Macs
- V9 Build 59 will remain avalable for users running Intel Macs.
Just to be extra clear, this has no effect on Windows users or Windows builds.
